Based on talking with multiple-job holders for about a decade now, we think there is a continuum of "typical," with the bookends being moonlighters who work multiple jobs to make ends meet and plural careerists who work multiple jobs out of a genuine desire to pursue more than one occupation, like someone who is a lawyer and yoga instructor.,Caza: This is a hard question to answer because, in the best of times, it is difficult to get concrete data on the prevalence of multiple-job holding, since people often hold a second job for only part of the year, have marginal earnings when in the startup phase of a new job, or may not report the income from what they may consider to be secondary jobs.,So my best guess is that those who are multiple-job holding out of necessity found that their secondary sources of income dried up, whereas those who were dabbling in multiple-job holding because they had an intrinsic passion toward exploring multiple jobs—the plural careerists—found they had the time and motivation to invest more in their secondary jobs during this time.,While I think remote work will become more normalized, which is one way multiple-job holders may interact with their clients, I am not sure if holding multiple jobs ever will be considered normal, as the one-job narrative is so baked into our society's narrative.,There are just so many opportunities that the Internet provides for multiple streams of income, it is hard to see how the number of individuals engaged in multiple-job holding could do anything other than rise.

Alabama quarterback Mac Jones didn't hold back in the aftermath of the Crimson Tide's 52-24 dismantling of Ohio State in the College Football Playoff National Championship Game.,They had won 16 in a row dating back to the 2019 season, and then the bottom fell out in consecutive losses by a total of 41 points to Clemson in the ACC championship game and Alabama in the CFP semifinal.,That loss likely kept the Sooners from making their fifth College Football Playoff appearance in the past six years, but they finished the season on an eight-game winning streak, including a 55-20 rout of Florida in the Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic.,The Wildcats played Ohio State tough in the Big Ten championship game before losing 22-10 and then put an impressive bow on the season with a 35-19 win over Auburn in the Vrbo Citrus Bowl.,They beat Georgia and played Alabama down to the final minutes in the SEC championship game, but had trouble stopping teams on defense all season and lost their last three games, including a 55-20 setback to Oklahoma in the Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic.

The boys basketball coaches at Orange County’s private high schools are advancing closer toward creating a club-type league that could take the place of the CIF Southern Section season if it is canceled or greatly reduced because of the pandemic.,Coaches at Trinity League and other private schools will have a Zoom meeting Tuesday, Jan. 12 to discuss options for a season that would be held during the spring.,Becoming a club league, with no school associations, would be a last resort, according to Mater Dei coach Gary McKnight, who has a leadership role in the coaches’ efforts to figure out a way for a 2021 spring season to occur.,Figuring it is a longshot that all seven counties will get to the yellow tier by the time the season is supposed to start, McKnight and other O.C. boys basketball coaches are examining options for an all-Orange County private school league.,McKnight said with other counties perhaps having a more difficult time getting to the yellow tier, an all-O.C. league might provide the best chance for having a season.
