Starting Monday, the Los Feliz native will host Daily Wager, a daily program on ESPNews airing at 3 p.m. and available for streaming on the ESPN app.Its the first regularly scheduled program from the Walt Disney Co.s sports media behemoth solely dedicated to gaming-related information and data on upcoming contests, and it likely wont be the last as legal sports betting spreads throughout the country. The Supreme Court ruling in May that legalized sports betting is expected to be a boost for sports talk shows, which are the low-cost moneymakers for outlets that need programming to supplement their live play-by-play telecasts.,Open discussion of odds, point spreads and other analytical data related to wagering on pro and college games each night could potentially energize the format for an audience that has a financial stake in the outcomes. The changes in the law open up an entirely new genre of entertainment, said Patrick Rishe, director of the sports business program at Washington University in St. Louis.Other sports networks are already on the bandwagon.,WarnerMedias digital sports website Bleacher Report announced last month that it is building a studio inside Caesars Palace in Las Vegas where it will produce gaming-related content. But as the countrys leading source of sports programming, ESPN, with its entry into gaming-themed shows, is marking the strongest indication yet of an attitudinal shift toward a once-verboten subject on which sports TV coverage has traditionally tread lightly.A daily ESPN show is an important milestone, said Lee Berke, president of the consulting firm LHB Sports, Entertainment Media.,ESPNs SportsCenter with Scott Van Pelt has a popular segment called Bad Beats, which humorously focuses on heartbreaking, last-minute plays that result in teams failing to cover the spread.Van Pelt sidekick Steve Coughlin will be one of the contributors to Daily Wager along with ESPN radio host Chris The Bear Fallica, ESPN.com gambling industry reporter David Purdum, Las Vegas-based handicapper Preston Johnson, fantasy football analyst Anita Marks and sports betting expert Joe Fortenbaugh.Rishe believes programs that provide usable data for bettors have the potential to draw younger viewers who have drifted away from traditional TV for sports news.,After graduating with a degree in economics from Brown University, he immersed himself in the analytics and data related to gaming and became an expert as a sports journalist in Las Vegas, where the home team is betting, he said. While wager-related data crunched by ESPNs statistic and information group will line the screen during Daily Wager, Kezirian said the programs content will still be accessible to the non-betting fan. Were still in Year 1 of legalization and I think there is a new audience that is open-minded to the space, so we want to be inclusive, he said.
With its win at No. 20/19 Cincinnati on Sunday afternoon, No. 12/12 Houston claimed the outright American Athletic Conference regular season title and will be the No. 1 seed in the 2019 Air Force Reserve American Athletic Conference Men’s Basketball Championship, held March 14-17 at FedExForum in Memphis, Tenn.,Houston has been a top-three seed in The American Championship in each of the past three seasons and will take on the winner of No. 8 Tulsa and No. 9 UConn on Friday, March 15 at noon ET/11 a.m. CT.,The Bulls played their last two games without starting point guard Laquincy Rideau who should be ready to make his return on Thursday, March 14 when USF faces No. 9 UConn in first game of the 2019 Championship at 1 p.m. ET/noon CT.,With the Huskies’ regular-season finale victory against the Pirates, UConn will take on No. 8 USF in the tip-off game of the tournament on Thursday, March 14 at 1 p.m. ET/noon CT.,No. 9 UConn vs. No. 8 USF, 1 p.m. ET/noon CT (ESPNU)

Even though the Thunder narrowly ended their 4-game skid last night @ Portland, they are still 1 loss away from losing 5 of 6 and 6 of 8 games.,Next up for the Hawks was a 6 game Western Conference road trip against average to good teams, all of which would be underdogs to them.,Proposed bet#3: .3 units on LA Lakers ML +200 ~ Potential Profit = .6 units -(Subtracted by the .1 from Denver Bet & the .2 units from Phoenix bet) =+0.3 units
Regardless of which game they loss, my friend Jay would profit between .1 and .6 units as long as they lost one game.,Although I haven't employed such an ambitious strategy, I have always thought about the ways in which Jay would manufacture value by betting against a team multiple times - knowing that if he was wrong on the first game, he would get better value betting against them the next game.,If the true value of the Hawks against OKC, the 6th game of their trip, was an even money proposition, by the time the Hawks won their next 5 games the market would make them significantly more expensive, and the Thunder would obtain more value, around at +130 or better.

It is difficult to comprehend quite what Mason Greenwood must have thought when Ole Gunnar Solskjaer handed him his Manchester United debut along with the sizeable task of finding the goal that would see United become the first team in the history of the European Cup to overturn a two-goal deficit, away from home, in the knockout stages.,The England under-18 international, who signed his first professional United contract in October, had scored 22 goals in 22 games for Manchester United’s under-18, under-19 and under-23 teams before his unforgettable night in Paris and his has been an exponential career trajectory that Mark Senior, one of the first to harness Greenwood’s infinite talent, believes was forecast from the age of six.,Greenwood’s first taste of organised football came at United’s development school in Halifax 11 years ago and Senior, a former coach at both the Halifax centre and United’s academy, says Greenwood, from Wibsey, Bradford, was almost immediately earmarked as a future star.,Greenwood’s talent was so apparent that he was soon sent to United’s training ground in Salford, The Cliff, on Sunday mornings to play small-sided games against the most gifted members of United’s 46 development centres around the country.,Greenwood’s showing since forming part of United’s tour squad last summer have seen comparisons made with United strikers of old, but Senior believes Greenwood, who can play across the forward line, will become known as a player with a unique style should his progression continue at the same rate.
Saturday’s game saw the Rangers jump out to a 1-0 lead in the first period thanks to a goal by Maxwell Kjelden.,Kjelden scored yet another goal in the third period when the Caps pulled their goalie.,Caps goalie Tate Mueller had 32 saves on 33 shots on goal.,Sunday’s game saw the Caps jump out to a 2-0 lead in the first period after goals by Cole Nelson and Talon Griese.,The Caps clinched the game in the third period after two goals by Raef Briggs and one goal by Caden Davis.
To maximise their bottom line, football clubs must aspire to be successful, and to do so, requires them to buy short term, liquid and measurable assets – footballer players.,To acquire football players, clubs must partake in a transfer market which dictate the prices of the assets available based on demand and supply.,The sad truth that we live in a hyper capitalist society governed by greed and in my view, football and footballer players more specifically, are merely the tip of a giant, immoral, unethical, dishonourable, corrupt and nefarious iceberg.,Mohsin (ok that wasn’t actually short after all), Dubai
I think last night confirmed what we’ve been hearing about player power at Chelsea over the last few years.,For a 24 year old keeper who has been at the club for less than a year to behave so in public, clearly disobeying and disrespecting your manager to the full glare of millions, I believe the issues are much deeper than we thought.

The last few years have been lean for New York Mets fans as the team tries to recreate the magic that led to an exciting – if not improbable – run to the National League pennant in 2015.,Being a Mets fan in Los Angeles is not so different from following the club from any other baseball city.,While I would love to have the TV tuned to SNY 24/7 to get my content fix, there is one part of being a fan in Los Angeles that can never be taken for granted – the time change.,There are at least three games at Dodger Stadium each year and every so often the team will head to Anaheim to take on the Los Angeles Angels.,I guess at the end of the day, it may actually be easier to be a Mets fan in Los Angeles than a Dodgers fan.
I guess the first thing you should know about me is that I tend to mispronounce Lancaster.,I want to hear from you — our readers — about places in Fairfield County I should visit and experience.,Of course, there are certain must-see events, like the Lancaster Festival and the Fairfield County Fair, but I'm positive there are even more.,I can be found most Friday nights in the fall on the sidelines of high school football games, where I have assisted the sports departments (mostly in Zanesville where I spent most of my career) in coverage.,This past fall, I watched my first game at Fulton Field when Sheridan played its playoff game against Columbus Eastmoor.
