What can I do everyday to improve my overall attitude toward my life and my profession?

question asked by Anonymous
Attitude is everything, well almost!. The most important thing we can do to improve our attitude is to make a decision that no matter what we will make improving it a priority. In general, we get what we focus on in life. Thus, if we make self-improvement a priority and put the time, energy, and money toward it, we will improve!

Let’s discuss the time piece first. Almost everything good in life takes time. Successful relationships require a commitment to constantly communicate. This takes time! Business success takes time. Putting in the time to improve our attitude is an absolute no-brainer. Why? Because our attitude is our filter. If we feel positive, we tend to see people and situations as favorable. If we feel negative, similarly, we see the circumstances of our life less favorably.

Everything is energy. This is a scientific fact. The molecules that make up our cells are themselves made up of particles, which are forms of energy on a quantum level. Thus, if we want to improve our attitude, we must commit our energy to do so! This also means that we must improve our energy to improve our attitude. Adequate sleep, proper nutrition, and regular exercise are essential aspects to feeling good over time. Notice that when you eat poorly or have several late nights that it affects your energy level and often your attitude. Fatigue and a positive attitude tend to be opposites. There may be times in life when you are tired and happy but it is less common than the reciprocal. Rather, when we are exhausted or run down eventually it negatively affects our attitude.

Let’s discuss money. It takes money to do many things in life. Money is not essential for a great attitude but without it, staying positive will be a challenge. So if you are one of those people who like to pretend that money is not important, think otherwise. Having enough gelt to cover your overhead and have some disposable income is essential to success in life and business. It just is. And if we want to hire someone to help us with our attitude, attend a retreat or seminar, it takes money to do so. Let’s make a commitment today to become a success no matter what. Success, as measured by our energy, our ability to control our own destiny and the results of our actions, is fundamental to the development of a bang-up attitude.
