Within 24 hours of her family appearing on local news channels pleading for the safe return of 18-year-old student Shalyha Ahmad, the University of Illinois at Chicago freshman walked into a police station and told authorities she had never been missing, police said Thursday afternoon.,Anthony Guglielmi, a spokesman for the Chicago Police Department, said Ahmad walked into the 22nd District station on Monterey Avenue in Morgan Park on Thursday morning and told an officer that she was the teenager police had been looking for.,In detailing their account before Ahmad was located safe, her parents said that two weeks ago they dropped their daughter off at the Jefferson Park CTA station to catch a train to the University of Illinois at Chicago.,Shetti Fatima Ahmad said the family first filed a report with university police Dec. 14, and went to the Chicago Police Department’s 16th District station later that day to file a missing persons report.,Shetti Fatima Ahmad said the family moved from the Philippines to Chicago in 2006, when Shalyha was 6.
