PLAINVILLE – An man was taken into custody early Friday night after barricading himself inside Dick’s Sporting Goods, leading to a three-hour standoff with police.,A police SWAT team responded to Dick’s, 282 New Britain Ave., at around 2:45 p.m. for reports of an armed man inside.,The man appeared to have a gun but did not take aim at anyone and only “swayed back and forth” outside Dick’s, according to a statement from Plainville police.,Police discovered the gun was plastic after taking the man into custody.,Stores in the strip mall, including Dick’s, were able to reopen after the man was taken into custody.

PASADENA (CBSLA) — Authorities have arrested five suspects in connection with an armed robbery and high-speed pursuit that stretched from Pasadena to East Hollywood Friday.,Officers pursued the suspects in a white Kia Sol at high speeds on the 210 and 134 freeways before the driver moved onto surface streets.,The suspect vehicle exited the freeway at Harvard Blvd. and Melrose Ave. around 5 p.m., when five people fled on foot.,The suspects could be seen hopping over fences in the surrounding neighborhood to evade authorities, who set up a perimeter and eventually brought them into custody.,The suspects had not been identified at the time of this report.
