The judge granted a request by Spacey’s lawyers to preserve the victim’s cellphone data for six months after the alleged assault.,In an emotional press conference back in November of 2017, Heather Unruh, a former news anchor, alleged that Spacey had grabbed her then 18-year-old son’s genitals at the Club Car Restaurant.,The victim sent a Snapchat video to his girlfriend that allegedly showed Spacey touching the front of his pants, according to state police reports filed in Nantucket District Court and obtained by the Cape Cod Times.,On Dec. 24 — the same day the Cape and Island District Attorney charged the Oscar-winning actor — Spacey made his first public appearance since the sexual assault allegations against him surfaced: in the form of a bizarre three-minute video posted to his YouTube channel.,The slew of allegations began in October 2017, in the wake of the Harvey Weinstein scandal, when actor Anthony Rapp claimed that a 26-year-old Spacey had made sexual advances towards him in 1986 in Spacey’s New York City apartment, when Rapp was 14. read more

PHILADELPHIA — Over the past four months, Roman Catholic dioceses across the U.S. have released the names of more than 1,000 priests and others accused of sexually abusing children in an unprecedented public reckoning spurred at least in part by a shocking grand jury investigation in Pennsylvania, an Associated Press review has found.,Nearly 50 dioceses and religious orders have publicly identified child-molesting priests in the wake of the Pennsylvania report issued in mid-August, and 55 more have announced plans to do the same over the next few months, the AP found.,In mid-December, she issued a blistering preliminary report saying a review of church files showed dioceses in Illinois had withheld the names of at least 500 clergy accused of sexually abusing children.,The Pennsylvania investigation , led by Shapiro, identified nearly 300 “predator priests” dating back seven decades and accused church leaders of covering up for the abuses, in some cases by returning priests to duty after short stays in treatment centers or reassigning them.,In the 16 years between the Boston scandal and the Pennsylvania investigation, only about 30 dioceses around the country had released lists of priests they deemed credibly accused of abuse.

For the second time in the span of a little more than a week, internet outages involving different service providers have wreaked havoc across the country for people trying to do business or enjoy some entertainment.,In Northwest Montana, Spectrum customers were once again dealing with outages Friday and into Saturday.,As a result, the Inter Lake has been unable to accept customer service phone calls regarding delivery of the Saturday edition.,Acording to an Associated Press report Friday, CenturyLink said engineers identified a problem that left customers across the country without internet service and expected to restore it within hours.,The outages reported Thursday afternoon stretched from New York to California and even temporarily shut down phone services at the Idaho Department of Correction and knocked out 911 emergency call services in parts of western Washington state.
